Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of the website. Visiting a page, reading its content, or starting a search signifies acceptance. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the service.

NO FCRA USE. This website is privately owned and run. It has no affiliation with any local, state, or federal government body or court. Neither this site nor any of our advertising partners offer services meant for credit checks, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant evaluation, or any other use covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). We exist to help visitors find court dockets and case-record resources in Hood County and Texas. We are not a private investigation firm, and we are not a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is an independently operated private reference site, not a government office or court. It neither stores official records nor has authority to retrieve a docket, file a document, or alter a court date.

Its purpose is to identify the official Hood County routes: the District Clerk for the 355th District Court, the County Clerk for county-court records, the appropriate lower-court clerk, and re:SearchTX where a case is integrated. Some pages also connect users with outside research tools.

2. Informational Use Only

All content is general information. It cannot replace a Hood County clerk’s official docket, a signed court order, or advice from an attorney. Confirm material facts with the court or clerk that maintains the case. Texas Judicial Branch Open Records Policy explains that case records generally go through the clerk and are distinct from Rule 12 judicial records; the Texas Public Information Act is not a universal route for court case files.

3. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

If you need a background check for any of those purposes, use an FCRA-compliant screening company.

5. No Legal Advice

No material here constitutes legal advice. General explanations of Hood County dockets cannot determine how a charge, order, deadline, or case applies to a particular person. Consult a licensed Texas attorney for that analysis.

6. Accuracy Is Not Guaranteed

The website and its content are supplied "as is." We make no promise that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Court records change as filings arrive, settings move, and cases are amended, sealed, dismissed, or otherwise updated. Delays and omissions can occur. Treat no website entry as an official clerk statement, and verify any date or status with the court that holds the case.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Outbound links include official clerks, Texas court portals, legal-aid organizations, and outside search services. Their operators control availability, content, data practices, and charges. Review a destination’s terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Hood County Court Docket or its content partners own the site’s text, graphics, logos, and code. Copying, adapting, distributing, or creating derivative material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from use of the website, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, and proceedings caused by your use of the website or violation of these terms, including related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from website use must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A new version becomes effective when posted here. Effective date: September 7, 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you look up a case or docket for me?

No. We are a private reference site with no access to the court's docketing system. You can run a case search yourself or contact the clerk of court.

Can you change or confirm my court date?

No. Only the court can set, reset, or confirm a hearing. Check the court calendar and verify any date with the clerk of court.

Is a docket entry on a linked tool official?

No. Docket data on third-party tools may be incomplete or out of date. The official docket comes from the clerk of court that holds the case.
