Hood County Traffic Court Records
A ticket from city police stays with that municipal court. A county or precinct ticket belongs to the justice court named on the paper. Hood County runs Justice of the Peace Courts for Precincts 1 through 4. Granbury, Lipan, and Tolar each have municipal routes. Cresson and DeCordova post no official public citation portal.
The clerk or administrator of the issuing court keeps the file. The file can hold the citation number. It also lists the court assignment, settings, a plea or payment event, any judgment, and copy status. Municipal and JP tickets do not go through the Hood County Clerk or the District Clerk by default. Read the court name first. If it is unclear, call the issuing agency or the city. Ask which court received the citation.
Hood County Traffic Ticket Courts
A Hood County address does not settle jurisdiction. Granbury police citations head to Granbury Municipal Court through the city route. A state or county citation may land in a Hood County JP court instead. Cresson spans county lines. The court named on the ticket, and where it was issued, tell you more than the city name alone.
| Clue on the paper | Likely starting point | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Granbury Municipal Court | City citation search | Use the listed citation fields |
| Lipan Municipal Court | Directory-linked payment form | Contact the clerk for docket or hearing detail |
| Tolar Municipal Court | City Hall contact | Confirm court hours and current procedure |
| JP precinct | Named Hood County justice court | Ask that precinct for search and copy channels |
A blank city search does not mean the ticket was dismissed. The entry may simply not be posted, may sit under a different identifier, or may belong to another court entirely.
Looking Up a Traffic Ticket
The Granbury citation portal offers the most complete public ticket search in Hood County. It supports six search modes. Lipan's route is a payment form, not a public docket. Tolar sends people to City Hall for municipal-court hours and payment instructions. JP tickets go straight to the precinct court.
- Find the issuing court, citation number, and court date on the ticket.
- Use the exact official municipal or JP portal when one exists.
- Try an approved alternate search field if the citation number fails.
- Call the court or visit its confirmed counter when no online record appears.
- Record the displayed date, status, amount, and instructions, then verify conflicts with the clerk.
re:SearchTX can work as a statewide fallback for integrated court cases, but it does not guarantee a municipal citation index. The issuing court's phone and counter still matter. Hood County posts no public daily countywide traffic calendar.
Hood County Traffic Ticket Fields
Granbury's public interface lets you search by citation or by other identifiers the portal supplies. Enter real information only in the official form. A result is a citation locator, not proof of a full docket or final disposition.
| Search mode | Fields | Format note |
|---|---|---|
| Citation number | Citation number and date of birth | DOB appears as MM/DD/YYYY |
| Driver license | License number and issuing state | Jurisdiction dropdown |
| SSN | SSN and date of birth | Never publish a real SSN |
| Vehicle | License plate and state | State or territory dropdown |
| Name | First name, last name, and DOB | Use the name shown on the citation |
| Business | Business name | Exact business-name search |
The official Granbury search page presents its tabs, each with a distinct set of fields.
If a case number or other identifier will not come through, leave the guesswork alone. Do not try a birth date, license number, SSN, plate, or citation number by trial and error. Instead, call the Hood County court with the paper citation in hand.
How to Find Your Traffic Court Date
The date printed on a citation is your first reference point. An online result may show a current setting or status. No universal refresh time exists, though. A reset, a later notice, or a clerk's instruction can replace an older date. Entries can conflict. They may lack a time or place. Confirm any urgent appearance with the issuing court.
| Citation number | The court’s identifier, represented as citation-specific number; no single local format was published. |
|---|---|
| Issuing court | The municipal or JP court that owns the file. |
| Court date | The date printed on the citation or current official result. |
| Time and location | Use only the notice or verified court entry; do not infer from office hours. |
| Status | A portal label that should be confirmed when it conflicts with a later notice. |
Save the result or receipt, but treat the clerk as the confirmation source. A filing date, a payment date, and a hearing date are three different fields.
Hood County Lipan Traffic Tickets
The Lipan route linked through the Texas Judicial Branch directory is an nCourt payment workflow. It asks for citation number, court date, amount, name, address, phone, birthdate, and agreement to terms. Address 2 is optional; the core fields are required. The form also carries an international-address checkbox. It adds a jurisdiction menu, Payment and Receipt tabs, and a Cancel control.
The official Lipan Municipal Court payment form shows the operational fields. It is not a public register of actions.
The form validates phone formatting and can reject an invalid amount. It shows a service fee before submission and lists phone payment at 877-793-7971. The posted hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Eastern time. Weekends run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those are vendor phone-payment hours, not municipal court hours.
Pay or Contest a Ticket
Read the citation before choosing a response. The official sources offer no complete Hood County table of response deadlines, contest methods, deferred-disposition terms, or failure-to-appear results. Granbury's payment portal proves a payment route, not one rule for every municipal and JP case. Lipan's form collects payment data. Tolar names a payment instrument. None of them sets a countywide contest deadline.
| Paying | Contesting or seeking a hearing |
|---|---|
| Confirm the court, citation, amount, and total fee. | Ask the issuing clerk for the permitted plea or hearing process. |
| Use only the court’s current official channel. | Do not assume a payment form also accepts a contest request. |
| Save the receipt and verify posting if needed. | Keep the citation and any written response or setting notice. |
Missed date or deadline: Contact the issuing court at once. The official source set did not establish one countywide consequence, added charge, warrant rule, or hold procedure, so do not rely on a guess.
Ask the clerk first. Find out how paying affects any pending hearing or a request to contest the ticket in Hood County. Payment mechanics alone do not prove the legal effect of that payment.
Hood County Granbury Ticket Fee
Granbury's payment page discloses a 2% convenience fee on court-bill payments, effective November 1, 2015. That surcharge belongs to Granbury's portal alone. It is not a county clerk copy charge. It is not a JP fee, a Lipan service fee amount, or a Tolar rule.
The official Granbury payment landing page keeps the payment route separate from the citation search.
Check the total one last time before you submit. Granbury's Municipal Court office sits at 116 West Bridge Street, Granbury, Texas 76048, and the city's official page gives (817) 573-1114 as its phone with a fax of (817) 573-7678. The payment page lists a different number, so pick the line that matches your question.
Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record
Two different offices keep these two records. The court case record for a Hood County traffic citation lives with the municipal or JP clerk, while a separate Texas driver record stays with the state licensing agency. Getting the right office saves a wasted trip.
| Court traffic record | Driving record | |
|---|---|---|
| Custodian | Issuing municipal or JP court | Texas driver-licensing agency |
| Core purpose | Citation case, setting, filing, and court outcome | Separate state motor-vehicle history |
| Request route | Court portal, phone, counter, or clerk copy request | State agency’s own record route |
One record can't stand in for the other. Questions about a ticket hearing, court status, a judgment, or a certified case copy all go to the court that issued the ticket.
Hood County Traffic Ticket Not Found
Start with the court named on the ticket and the identifier on it. A fresh citation may take time to show up. There's no set posting delay you can count on. Granbury gives several search modes, but every one demands exact personal or vehicle data. Lipan's form asks for a date and an amount. Tolar simply offers no online citation search.
- Compare the portal name with the court printed on the ticket.
- Check the citation number and date without inventing missing values.
- Use a valid alternate Granbury mode only when the correct data is known.
- Call the municipal or JP clerk and ask whether the citation has posted.
Sometimes a city or court will send the matter somewhere else. Follow whatever official transfer or custody detail it gives you. When a countywide case has moved past the citation portal, the Hood County case lookup walks through the state and clerk layers.
Copies and Fees
Ask the municipal or JP clerk who holds the citation for a copy of the traffic case. Say exactly what you need. That could be a docket sheet, citation, signed judgment, receipt, plain copy, or certified copy. One caution applies here. A payment receipt is not the same as a certified judgment or a full court docket.
| Item | Published fee | Instruction |
|---|---|---|
| Granbury online payment | 2% convenience fee | Review the portal total |
| Lipan online or phone payment | Service fee shown before submission | Confirm the final amount |
| Tolar citation payment | No fee amount located | Cashier’s check or money order is the posted method |
| Plain traffic case copy | Not located | Ask the issuing clerk |
| Certified traffic case copy | Not located | Confirm certification and delivery charges |
Tolar's city page tells callers to phone City Hall at (254) 835-4390 for municipal-court hours. Payment takes a cashier's check or money order made out to Tolar Municipal Court. The city posts no online docket. It lists no exact schedule, no mailing details, and no contest deadline. So nail down the payee, address, amount, and citation number. Do that before anything goes in the mail.
Hood County Traffic Ticket Routes
Granbury gives residents an official Municipal Court page. It also runs a citation portal with six search modes. Lipan lays out a payment workflow but publishes no public event register. Tolar sticks with a City Hall phone route and a stated payment instrument. Cresson and DeCordova post no public municipal citation portal. So you'll need to name the issuing court and ask for a current referral.
- Use Granbury’s portal for its municipal citation searches.
- Use Lipan’s form for the payment task it supports, then call for docket or hearing records.
- Call Tolar City Hall for current municipal-court procedure.
- Ask Cresson or DeCordova which court received a named citation.
- Contact the printed JP precinct for justice-court traffic matters.
Every route circles back to one rule: the court named on the citation is in charge. Confirm dates and instructions directly with it, above all when the online record clashes with the paper notice you got in the mail.
Hood County Tolar Traffic Tickets
Tolar shows why a payment instruction is not a searchable traffic docket. The official city page names Presiding Judge Paul D. Hyde, points people to City Hall at (254) 835-4390 for municipal-court hours, and requires a cashier's check or money order payable to Tolar Municipal Court. What it lacks matters just as much. You won't find a public citation search form, an online card-payment path, a court schedule, a copy fee, a mailing deadline, or a contest form there. Before anything goes in the mail, confirm the address, payee, amount, citation number, and court date. Ask too whether paying wipes out an appearance or hearing. For a docket sheet or certified judgment, request it from the municipal clerk. Proof of payment is not the whole case file.
